Burt Miquiabas Estrada is a member of the Bukidnon Tagoloanon Tribe, an Indigenous Community in Malaybalay City, Bukididnon. He is a Datu in the said tribe, anointed with the name Datu Manhan-ayan which in English means “one he organize, fix and prepare or arrange things”. Burt’s father is Retired RTC Judge Benjamin Propia Estrada who is the Chieftain of the Tribe. After Judge Estrada successfully secured the Certificate of Ancestral Domain Title of the Tribe in 2015, Burt continued his father’s work and secured the confirmation of the tribes Indigenous Political Structure and Organized the tribes Indigenous Peoples Organization in 2017. Aside from being the “Siel” or assistant to his father, Burt now acts as the Tribal Chief Datu of the tribe and also the General Manager of the tribes own IP cooperative which has just started to establish a 100 hectare cacao plantation within their Ancestral Domain.
Burt is a product of Ateneo de Cagayan - Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro City. Earning both his Bachelors Degree in Philosophy and Law in the said institution. After passing the Bar in 2007, Burt returned to Malaybalay City, Bukidnon with his wife and sons and started his private practice in the province. A member of IBP Bukidnon Chapter, Burt served as chapter officer for the last 10 years. He was chapter president in 2015-2016. Other than the IBP and his tribe, Burt has been active in several other civic organizations in Bukidnon which includes: the Junior Chamber International Bukidnon Century Jaycees, Malaybalay City Eagles Club, and Fraternitas Scintilla legis.
Burt now is the senior lawyer of the Estrada and Associates Law Office in Malaybalay City and he is a part time law instructor at the Bukidnon State University College of law. He is married to Dianne Reyes Estrada and is the proud father of 4 handsome boys.
