In 1996, armed with no more than sheer determination and character honed by the difficulties of life in the province, Gov. Gil left the comfort of family and friends in Catanduanes for a shot at the kind of education offered by the Premier State University in Diliman.
He toiled for the succeeding years, absorbed all the knowledge that UP and UP life can offer. The dream of a better life pushed him to take up law in 2005. As one of the youngest regional governors of the IBP in history, Gov. Gil now honors hist roots and vows to return the favor by being of great service to his fellow Bicolanos in his capacity as IBP Governor. No doubt he is cut out for this latest endeavour.
